My Favourite Massage Oils

Oils make such difference to a massage. It’s not just the texture, its the scent as well. I use a variety of oils, depending on the preference of the person I’m massaging, but I have to admit my personal favourite for when someone is treating me is this one from Bodyshop. It’s handy because there’s a bodyshop in Worthing, making it easy to get refills.

Massage Oil Benefits

By using massage oil, and particularly scented oils, you can work your hands into, over and around the tissues of the body easily. This reduces tension in those tissues and lets the bodies own healing mechanisms work more freely.

Spcifically, a massge using scented oils:

  • Helps maintain joint flexibility.
  • Relieves fatigue and pain in the body.
  • Calms nerves.
  • Improves circulation.
  • Improves skin color by adding shine and tone.
  • Increases mental alertness.
  • Promotes deeper and better sleep.
  • Nourishes the entire body, promoting longevity.

To get the maximum benefit from massage oils youshould only use brands without chemicals. I prefer cold presses, organic vegetable oils, massage oils with herbs, or massage oils that are used as essential oils for aromatherapy.
